Hi torque starter motor to fit the Triumph Roadster 2088cc (1948-49) There are two different starters available matched by the number of teeth on the ring gear. The early phase 1 Vanguard engines had ring gear with 119 teeth for which the LMS821-10 tooth starter is required. Later engines using the Vanguard phase 2 engines had a ring gear with 91 teeth and the LMS821-9 tooth starter is required.
Just to complicate matters, another variant has come to light with a 9T 35mm pinion. This has also been included below.
